XPSIM – Version 3.02
What is new
This document summarizes new features available in version 3.02 of XPSIM (eXtended Process Simulation) officially issued on July 22, 2024.
This version was developed for x64-based PC running on Windows 11 or Windows 10 operating systems.
In addition to minor corrections applied to the steady-state and dynamic engines as well as to the Windows interface, the following improvements are available:
A. Steady state simulation
All the modifications and corrections issued for the 3.01 initial version and the following modifications have been incorporated and consolidated.
Unit Operations
The simulation of “shell & tube heat exchanger” (HXSHTB) is now available.
B. Dynamic Simulation
All the modifications and corrections issued for the 3.01 version, and the following modifications, have been incorporated and consolidated.
A dynamic simulation of a COLUMN section is now available in its initial release. One example can be viewed on the YouTube channel XPSIM.
The Dynamic Simulation Option has been used in the following fundamental studies recently published:
Raimondi L., Gas/Liquid Two-Phase Flow in Pipes: Slugs, Classical Flow-Map, and 1D Compositional Simulation, SPE Journal, 2022.
This article presents how slug flow can be simulated without the use of slug tracking options.
Raimondi L., CCS Technology – CO2 Transportation and Relief Simulation in the Critical Region for HSE Assessment, Chemical Engineering Transactions, Vol. 91, 2022
Unit Operations
A SITE definition operation and a Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger (HXSHTB) have been added.
